I think it would be nicer if each board would have its own file. This way the native functionality of Obsidian could be used, e.g. allowing to open multiple boards simultaneously in Obsidian tabs, linking boards or embedding boards into other files.

Obsidian Dataloom also provides this functionality for tables. You could just look, how they are doing this.

This would also automatically solve issues such as #196, #207, #151, #132, #121, #7 and maybe even #160, #186
