Dear maintainer,

Checking this creates and leaves behind files like

~/.cache/beast2_3a1f27adf1269.xml

one for every new check run. This is both a nuisance and violates the
CRAN Policy's "Packages should not write in the user’s home filespace
(including clipboards), nor anywhere else on the file system apart from
the R session’s temporary directory", so please fix asap.

Please fix before 2020-02-03 to safely retain your package on CRAN.

Will do!

Weird: it was recommended to use Hadley Wickham's rappdirs package to store to a temporary location, which is '~/.cache'. I know for sure rappdirs is more portable than using tempfile, for example on a computer cluster.

But again, will do this, on Saturday.
