self paced, messy data tutorial #4

Open jesse-jesse opened 7 years ago

The datascikit is a DIY Data Science self paced learning modules that takes students through the steps of generating transport data maps of their city of choice.

We started this at the Unconf in Bris earlier this year. I'm keen to pick it up again.

Sounds great! Perhaps @richardbeare can chime in with that Tram network dataset, sounded super cool! :)

richardbeare commented 7 years ago

Just updated the dataset with some results from this week. It is at:

https://github.com/richardbeare/Number58Tram

Challenge is to do a better job of tidying and visualization than I've managed (shouldn't be difficult).

This is a really valuable idea - too few good examples out there with messy data. Super useful for people crossing over from different areas.

I'd love to help @jesse-jesse . Helping beginners is a big interest of mine - mainly self interest as I am tired of being the only R user in my team 🤷‍♂️ . Can you post a link to the existing datascikit work.

Could some or all of this be packaged as a set of swirl tutorials? I really like swirl!

jesse-jesse commented 7 years ago

hey @adam-gruer here is the link - https://github.com/AU-BURGr/datascikit @timchurches - potentially it could be turned into a set of swirl tutorials..
