Fix travis build issues? #29

Thanks to @sckott's nice hack we can get around issues with rgdal etc. Maybe use that fix to get Travis to pass things here and SPOCC too?

Yeppers. Got it in spocc already https://github.com/ropensci/spocc/blob/master/.travis.yml#L7, and in rgbif https://github.com/ropensci/rgbif/blob/master/.travis.yml#L7

we may need the gdal thing in other pkgs though (i haven't checked yet), perhaps rwbclimate @emhart ?
