Thanks @yabellini for help on Slack.

For the record, searching and cloning the specific bits I wanted taught me a few tricks:

• On GitHub t pops the file finder.
• To do a shallow clone of only the relevant files I used a sparse checkout and a pull at depth 1.

My tree looks like this:
