The method could maybe be renamed to deposit_upload, and the argument identified as either a file or a directory.

[x] Extend upload method to auto-upload multiple files within a directory
[x] Automatically compress any non-binary files via an additional parameter, compress = c ("zip", "tar", "tar.gz")
