The --event_log_dir flag previously defaulted to "roq-data" (directory relative to current working directory) and it was possible to opt-out using --event_log_dir="".
Because saving to event-log may create large files and ultimately will require some kind of maintenance (backup or purge), it was decided to make this an opt-in feature.
