One key function of RRID is identifying "core facilities" -- there are currently over 2700 of them with RRIDs: https://scicrunch.org/resources/data/source/nlx_144509-1/search?q=%2A&l=&facet[]=Resource%20Type%3Acore%20facility Reports indicate that Core facilities include RRID gets one request per week from a core facility asking for an RRID, and RRID maps them to ROR IDs where possible. Core facility representatives are often unsure about whether to use ROR or RRID, and at the moment they tend to use RRID because it better suits their model, especially since the term "core facility" is not currently an organization type in ROR.
Describe the schema change that you would like in order to solve the problem
It may be desirable to automatically harvest these from RRID and add a type "core facility" to the ROR schema so that RRID and ROR are in alignment.
