Summary of request: Modify the information in an existing ROR record

Update record: Name of organization: UNiLaSalle ROR ID: https://ror.org/05wy89733 Which part of the record needs to be changed? Description of change: UNiLaSalle should write UniLaSalle. Then it is a university located on four sites, Beauvais, Bruz, Amiens and Mont St Aignan. Could you merge principal ROR 05wy89733 with 021wv9p83 and 03r13py57?

Update: ror_display.replace==UniLaSalleFrench | label.replace==UniLaSalleFrench | geonames.add==3037854; 3029713$

Name change here is correct. The deprecation of the campuses is a bit more ambiguous, as UniLaSalle Amiens - https://ror.org/03r13py57 appears to have its own web presence and affiliation usage. https://ror.org/03r13py57's site likewise describes it as changing its name and becoming part of the group of organizations that comprise UniLaSalle. All of the campuses appear to have been discrete organizations before becoming part of UniLaSalle, so were we to withdraw, the references to their historic forms would be lost. It's also not clear whether the UniLaSalle umbrella organization exists separate from the set of four institutions that comprise it. We could convert all records to their campus level record manifestations and then put under a placeholder record or simply leave at that level of representation.

It looks like this has been sitting around for a while, sorry I didn't check on it earlier! However it does appear a bit complicated. The wikipedia page (in English) seems confused about the predecessor organizations, listing sometimes two or three (not more), though it does list four current campuses. The wikidata entries for the three we have seem largely out of date. Meanwhile the university's own page says (https://www.unilasalle.fr/en/a-propos-d-unilasalle) "UniLaSalle is a Polytechnic Institute resulting from the merger of five engineering schools and the creation of a veterinary school." Clearly we're not reflecting that historical structure in full in ROR at the moment. I couldn't find a list of the 5 predecessors though?

Anyway, given the lack of clarity I think it would be ok to deprecate the subsidiary organizations and indicate they merged into the main UniLaSalle, as requested. We don't generally keep separate records for nearby campuses of the same university. Amiens and Beauvais are not far from one another (a bit north of Paris). Bruz/Rennes is considerably further away if distance was an issue in considering retaining a separate record, but that institution seems more fully integrated.

The other consideration is how are authors describing their affiliations in recent publications? "Institut Polytechnique UniLasalle Beauvais" from https://www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-3178408/v1 "UniLaSalle, Rouen" and "UniLaSalle, Beauvais" from https://doi.org/10.1111/ppl.14058 "Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle, Université d'Artois" from https://doi.org/10.1016/j.biteb.2023.101458 "UniLaSalle Amiens" from https://doi.org/10.23919/EPE23ECCEEurope58414.2023.10264550

I don't see the ESIEE name being used as an affiliation since 2023 in Google Scholar, so the Amiens campus appears to be fully integrated.

So anyway, I think it will be fine to do as requested here, deprecate the other campus records and indicate they merged into the main UniLaSalle institution.

@arthurpsmith Thanks for reviewing! Following from what you describe, should we then also make this an instance of a record having multiple locations, since affiliation usage seems variable relative to the campus?
