We would not add departments as aliases to the record, as these are sub-unit that would otherwise be represented with their own records, were they not out of scope for ROR. These can also be reconciled to the parent organization using our affiliation matching, e.g. https://api.ror.org/organizations?affiliation=%E2%80%9CBiosph%C3%A4rische%20Theorie%20und%20Modellierung,%20Max-Planck-Institut%20f%C3%BCr%20Biogeochemie%E2%80%9D.
