Other information about this request: CRTAA is Placed under the supervision of the Minister in charge of scientific research, it is responsible for carrying out scientific research and technological development programmes in the field of agri-food technologies, focusing in particular on the promotion of research in the fields of technologies applied to the agri-food sector.
It is also responsible for contributing to the development of processes aimed at controlling and diversifying the usage properties and functionality of products for the processing industries.
The centre is also expected to contribute to the development of alternative and more environmentally friendly techniques for processing and preserving agri-food products, as well as developing techniques for managing resources and reducing the amount of waste and losses resulting from product deterioration during production, processing and distribution.
Participating in the development and harmonisation of legislation relating to bioethics, biosafety and reference standards in collaboration with the bodies concerned are also among the tasks of the agri-food technology research centre.
