Data repository certification organization that is a cooperative effort between the Data Seal of Approval and the World Data System of the International Science Council, under the umbrella of the Research Data Alliance (RDA),. Request here appear to be to add their board vs the organization writ large, I'm assuming for ORCID or similar acknowledgement. While all seems legitimate, I'm struggling to see where this would fit within any of our conceptions of a research organization, so I'd appreciate if others could weigh in.
I could see a case for adding CoreTrustSeal as a whole more so than the CoreTrustSeal Standards & Certification Board specifically.
It's used as affiliation in several ORCIDs, for example https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0584-5729 https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4148-6978
Though I'm not finding it used for author affiliations in the Crossref, DataCite, or OpenAlex APIs
In terms of scope, it seems to me that they're part of research infrastructure broadly conceived. So they're not producing or funding research, but they are supporting/facilitating it.
There are other organizations that are in ROR which are also primarily infrastructure. Crossref, DataCite, CNRI, OCLC, Altmetric, EBSCO, Clarivate, for example.
If we assume affiliation usage rolls up to the parent organization, this would be fine to add.
Assigned ROR ID https://ror.org/02hf1nv04 in release v1.26.
