Research review platform that describes itself as "fund[ing] public journal-independent evaluation of hosted papers and dynamically presented projects." No affiliation usage I can find. More an example of touches research. I think we would need further details about the status of this as an organization (e.g. evidence of NPO status, nothing is currently listed in the IRS' tax exempt organization registry for this) as well as how said funding mechanisms work before adding.

In general, I think organizations that produce/publish open, third-party, post-publication peer review should qualify as in scope for ROR, based on the 'touches research' use case, and at least in part on the 'publishing' use case.

But, in this particular case, I agree with concerns about needing more information about their organizational status and funding mechanisms

The non-registered DOI - 10.21428/d28e8e57.bd540428 - displayed on the example item they provided gave me pause. However there are other items on their site which do have registered DOIs, for example https://doi.org/10.21428/d28e8e57.652a843a https://doi.org/10.21428/d28e8e57.b9775e89

That 10.21428 prefix belongs to PubPub, which they're using as a content management system.

Checking back in on this. I'm David Reinstein, unjournal.org founder.

We are grant funded and we are currently part of Open Collective Foundation, our fiscal sponsor -- see https://opencollective.com/the-unjournal

We are working on establishing ourselves as an independent nonprofit org.

Regarding our NPO Status, we are currently sponsored by the OCF fiscal sponsorship program. We are in the process of applying for the IRS 501(c)(3) status

I'm not sure what the "non-registered DOI" indicates -- shall I look into this more about what determines whether the DOI is registered?

Btw our home page unjournal.org, and the linked knowledge base should have answers to most of your questions. But I'm also happy to arrange a meeting or answer questions one by one -- please flag me or schedule me https://calendly.com/daaronr

@daaronr Thanks for the additional details. ROR generally requires a greater deal of organizational solidity than is indicated here to be added to the registry, hence my reference to NPO status. Once this has been obtained, please feel free to comment again here and we will reassess adding. Grant-funded projects and initiatives are not otherwise in scope. @ssmulyan comment was about some DOIs on the site being invalid, i.e. not appearing to be registered such that they resolve.
