@radius needs to work on this but waiting on a design treatment by @msmjb first. We had talked about something similar to the github "clone URL" field and the way that uses a little text box, or some such

we had originally said this control would only be in the event detail window, but, if we push through the change described by issue #82, we would probably want to put this control up top, or bottom, or somewhere accessible everywhere
