This is an implementation of the RFC4122 Unique Identifies (UUID) implementation as defined in http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4122.txt

@bmagyar Meant to issue request on a private fork initially but accidentally made the request here. I plan to reopen this request shortly, but wasn't quite ready for a review yet
