Especially for new users it's not obvious that ROS Answers (or Askbot in general) is not a regular forum, and that whenever they want to post updates or provide answers to questions in the comments they should not post an answer, but edit their original question text or use comments.
It would probably help reduce the large nr of non-answer posts by users if -- when they start typing in the "Answer Box" -- a (non-modal) popup or admonition is shown that asks them to make sure they actually intend to answer their own question (and then politely ask them to edit their question if they have updates or use comments).
