Fedora as a tier 3 platform #376

Hello,

I would like to add Fedora as Tier 3 platform and I've built a container that can also be used as toolbox[0]: https://github.com/odra/ros2-fedora-toolbox which can be used as reference.

I would like to list Fedora as a Tier 3 platform for Rolling Ridley but the documentation states that it targets the same platforms as the "Humble Hawksbill", so I added some Fedora content for that release.

Is this the right way to add a new platform in this REP?

We don't typically add in Fedora to our supported platforms because the support cycle is so short. In this case, Fedora 37 is only supported for another ~7 months, so it doesn't seem worthwhile to add it; we'll just have to remove it in the near future.

That said, I'd like to get @cottsay's take on this as well.

Is there a group forming around this? I’d potentially be interested in assisting with keeping rolling building from source on the latest Fedora release.

Given that this is unlikely to be added at this time, I'm going to close this out. I'll encourage you to work with the Fedora group.
