How can we allocate the REP number to open the PR? #403

Just out of curiosity, i was wondering how it allocates the REP number. As far as i see PRs, currently up to REP-2017 has been allocated already, so my expectation is next REP would be 2018? or is there any other official procedure to allocate the REP number instead?

We don't currently have an official procedure; usually we just choose the next unused number, also keeping in mind which PRs are already open. So yeah, in this case we would choose REP-2018 for the next REP.
