The node name behavior was changed in different ways in the galactic and ros2 branches:

We should decide if we want to forward port the changes from #1319, perhaps as suggested in this comment: https://github.com/ros-simulation/gazebo_ros_pkgs/pull/1319#issuecomment-940511899
