Meanwhile, I tried removing all hombrew and python files and rebuilt ros from scratch but that didn't help. Here rviz with verbose mode on:

I could solve this issue by using hgaisers ogre:
brew install https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hgaiser/homebrew-simulation/master/ogre1.9.rb
and not this one:
brew tap nikolausdemmel/simulation brew install ogre1.9
I tried to compile rviz indigo-devel against Ogre1.9 today and it still segfaulted away.

Could be the fault of some updated deps, as my old known-working rviz also refuses to work.
