Moving sponsor logos on a separate page #39

Open ghost opened 10 years ago

I am opening this issue as a place to discuss the placement of sponsor logos on the CDL sites. There's an argument to be made about the degradation of CDL website aesthetics as a result of that placement. I would be interested to hear whether there are serious reasons for keeping those logos where they are now (reasons such as contractual obligations that ROSEdu needs to honor).

Some sponsors requested that their logo to be present on all the pages.

Maybe we should revent back to the old version (under the menu).

My underlying question was whether or not "hard" contractual obligations exist. A simple request from a sponsor is just that - a request - and you have a choice whether to ignore it.

@lauravasilescu @alexef @gvoicu can you clear this out?

@dserban it's not about obligations. Any company has the right to protect their brand and, therefore, how their logo is associated with different events / group of people. So, the entity (in this case ROSEdu Association) must sign a License Agreement. Before using the logo, you must submit a "preview" of how the logo will be used (in this case: screenshots of the website). After that you can use the logo. So, it's not that simple to move the logo because you must go back to a previous step. Which I don't really want to do right now.

I agree that the logos placements may not be the best ones, but since the event already started, we don't really want to go through bureaucracy right now. Lets keep in mind this issue and, next time, change the websites before events start.
