This would be a most welcome enhancement!

We regularly have monographs whose HTML exceeds 600000 bytes but which still load instantly. The performance impact is negligible, especially if the plugin is configured to work in a static way with bulk conversion done beforehand and Alter HTML only having to run once to populate the cache.
