tab delimited text #6

@rossmounce I've noticed that zt2006 has been converted to tab delimited text. I'm not entirely sure when or how I managed to do this! Can it be converted back to '@' delimitation?

rossmounce commented 9 years ago

@AimeRankin don't worry, I've changed it back with a simple find & replace operation. I just hope none of the text snippets contained tab spaces (?). Nevertheless nothing to worry about. As it's all version controlled on github we can always roll back if there's a problem.

Had a look at the 2006 data. It's interesting that ~ 68% of the mentions were "not specific". It would be interesting to tease out whether that's purely just a function of the taxa the paper is about (e.g. lots of entom papers), or whether standards are just poorer at Zootaxa ;)

Thanks @rossmounce !

Yeah that would be interesting to look at. I'd guess that most of them were entom papers but I did notice a few other groups such as crustacea that weren't being very specific. Maybe the NHM has a habit of lumping smaller animals into lots? There were instances where a paratype from the NHM had no code but paratypes of the same species from different institutions did have them.
