changes made according to mail thread:

display_strings as name of list of strings in different languages for PolyGlot text
added strict to STRING_CHOICE - it defaults to false so should be fully backwards compatible
added back the application of STRING_CHOICE & STRING_STRING_CHOICE constraints in c++ device model
changed STRING_CHOICE to a simple list-o-strings w/o language support

that's a reasonable point about leaving key outside of the map. if we specify in the standard that, if key is present, the map can be ignored I'd be up for changing the proto definition.
