Find a way to "cache" the menu so more of it can be shown on front-end

The WordPress admin menu doesn't show on the front-end so we can't grab items from it.

Can we "cache" the menu items?

How would we know when to update them?

• On logout?
• When plugins activated/deactivated?

Is it sufficient to just use the last saved menu if you're on the front-end?
