Hide the application from Dock #8

Just a simple one, would it be possible to hide the app from the dock while it's open?

I tried these instructions but doesn't appear to work. https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/207939/how-to-hide-a-specific-active-app-on-os-x-has-to-be-reversible

You can just have "Hide Dock Icon" checked in preferences.
