Generate fat16 xorpads freezes in Korean 2ds #470

Open afska opened 8 years ago

afska commented 8 years ago

Firm 6.0.0 Emunand firm: 10.7 (but the problem is in any fw) Region KOR

I bought the bundle with Pokemon Y preinstalled.

When i try to generate the xorpads for a region change it crashes. Is there another way to do this? Also, for any reason I cant boot rxTools 2.6, only 3.0 beta

MelonGx commented 8 years ago

This is a known bug. The latest FAT16 XORPAD dumping workable version is 12-08-2015 a08cfdd .

afska commented 8 years ago

Oh, I see. Thanks! Is there a nightly build of that commit? or should I try to build from the source?

Seems that https://lavanoid.github.io/ is broken

MelonGx commented 8 years ago

I don't know how to build it from previous sources. If you cannot do it either, you can alternatively use the 83afbb6 on the release.

urherenow commented 8 years ago

Seriously... Why are you wasting your time with outdated versions of dead CFWs? Use decrypt9wip to get your xorpads.

afska commented 8 years ago

@urherenow I didn't know rxTools was dead until... now. I'll try decrypt9wip!

urherenow commented 8 years ago

Best thing around now (especially if you do arm9loaderhax) is Luma3ds. But derypt9wip is a separate thing, not a CFW, so you can use it with your current rxtools or whatever cfw you have working.

dukesrg commented 8 years ago

@rodri042 Could you please check this one https://github.com/dukesrg/rxTools/releases/tag/2.6-bj-prealpha2 on your 2DS? FAT16XORpad generation should work fine on any console with that version.

afska commented 8 years ago

@dukesrg I can't boot with any 2.6* rxTools version. Simply the browser crashes and goes back to home. I ended up generating the fat16.xorpad.bin with Decrypt9WIP

@urherenow Yeah, but Arm9loaderhax doesn't work on korean/chinese/taiwan 3ds due to they came with 4.0+ firmwares where OTP was already blocked. Decrypt9WIP worked fine

dukesrg commented 8 years ago

@rodri042 If it is not the browser issue (i.e. you can launch something else with browser exploit) you can try my version, since there are not much left from 2.6 actually.
