Patch for SVG enhancements #8

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Inkscape generates SVG output that is not processed properly by the library.
I have enhanced SVGParser.java to handle the following cases - If you are
interested, I'm happy to (attempt to) send you the patch(es), or work with you
to get these features supported in the library
 - support transforms in <g> tags
 - support transform lists (e.g. transform="rotate(..) scale(..) ...")
 - support for arcs in paths
 - support implied commands in paths
 - limited support for text (e.g no tspan, but fill, stroke, transforms, etc
   seem to work OK

I would like your patch. Is it possible to attach it as a file here?

I want the patch too! Or just release 1.2 already :)

I have not been able to get a response from the project owners about this
patch,
so I am making it available at: http://code.google.com/p/svg-android-2/,
although I'd
rather not have to create a separate project to do it.

I have a local branch which integrates some of the other patches posted here.
If I make a diff containing those other patches would you merge it into your
fork?

Tried contacting project owners myself and no response. Can we start a more
open branch somehow because the stagnation here is very frustrating.

The fork is a good idea, can also be involved in that new project.

I will try to integrate your patch - post it to the issues list.

Bah, I just locally redeveloped this patch!

I want to thank you for the patch. The original SVGParser gave me a lot of
headaches, but with your patch everything worked as suspected.

Many many thanks!

Shame, looks like the fork has gone stale too. What are people using for SVGs
on Android now?

I'm still here - I've just been busy with other things lately.
If someone is interested in stepping up and maintaining/fixing this,
and as more time than I do right now - let me know - as I'm happy to
pass the baton

I am interested in keeping the project, for now I have enough time, and I'm
also working on various Android applications that use this library. So am more
interested in having it more maintained/fixed this library.

I am once again trying to spark up interest in getting some of these patches
merged. I don't know that all of the patches currently in svg-android-2 make
sense (I recently filed an issue regarding significant parser performance
regressions here: http://code.google.com/p/svg-android-2/issues/detail?id=20),
however after reviewing the complete patch set I'm confident that most of these
are stable enough to include in this project.

Maintainers, please respond.

I have refined these parser improvement patches and resubmitted them upstream
under issue 35. I have also been in communication with a member of this
project that should help me get the merge through.
