Hello, would it be legal to remake a exact replica of BonziBuddy that's free and open-source?

Not for me to answer about the legality of it, but I think the company that made that software is defunct - probably wouldn't get challenged.

I don't plan on writing a BonziBuddy replica myself, however I do intend to write an MS Agent library for this project. Whenever that comes to fruition it would be possible to use it for writing a BonziBuddy clone.
