Fix failing tests and update build config #10

Fix failing code and build tests. This meant updating Travis config, Docker file, and code.
Dependencies are now managed by Go modules, go's official dependency manager. glide was previously used on this project.
I plan on writing more tests, fixing the "todos" in the project, and closing the opened issues.

Although the build passes on my fork, it fails on the base repo because the commits include changes to the way the project builds so it is in conflict with the base project build config. It would be easier to fix from the main repo, so I'm going to merge it in anyways and fix it from the base repo :)
