How to use mailR with Google apps accounts? #23

I can use the mailR package with my normal gmail account but I want to be able to send emails though my company's google domain. The fix that I used was to enable less secure apps access to my gmail account, however when I got to do that for my google apps account it says the option is not available. Is there a known workaround to this?

I followed the MS Exchange instructions and used the 2-step verification process and created a password for my app to log in instead. No need for any help, but now this should appear in google searches.
