Question: VMWare Fusion + [Which Linux] => rr happiness? #2295

I could not find the IRC channel, sorry for asking this question here.

Is there a Linux distro / version which will work with current VMWare Fusion [11.x] to get rr working on a Mac running High Sierra 10.13.4? Any suggestions on promising combos to try much appreciated. I tried latest Fedora and RR would not build.

Could you please share what kind of build error you get, and the rr version you are using? That is the real problem, and what we should fix.

Unfortunately I did not keep the error or the VM. Let me know if I should re-download the ISO and reproduce to report back?

Also, is there a combination that is known to work so I can get started with rr?

rr master should build on Fedora 28 and 29. This is independent of whether you're running in VMWare. Just build it and tell us what errors you get if any.

I don't really know what combinations of VMWare version and OSX version will work with rr, but I don't know any reason why VMWare 11 and OSX 10.13 would not work.
