From what i've seen a few cd drives will work on android, but its nothing that can be supported globally I don't think. Why would you want to anyway...seems very strange idea.
Either for lots of data - or for playing DVDs (without having to rip them first)
I don't think this works anywhere else really..only certain drives.
GreenI: Point us to an Android app that can play DVD's directly from disc and we'll look into it. Until then we're closing this, as it is really a limitation of Android rather than this rom.
Running 1/24 ICSa2. When I plug the external DVD drive in, the Adam recognizes it as /dev/block/sr0. [It also defines a generic chaacter device /dev/sg0 (which has a different major number).]
However, /proc/filesystems does not define any 'iso9660' filetype, so that when I try to mount a Linux CD, I get an "Invalid" message (because it tried to mount type 'yaffs2').
When I plug in the unit to the USB port it spins up - but I get an error in the notification area
Damaged SD card SD card damaged you may have to reformat it
