It happens quite often on my Adam that when I choose to power it off it actually reboots.

Same with me :) I started using 5 sec hold on power button - it always power down :D

I usually do so when such reboot occurs but a yet bit reluctant as probably prematurely halting booting kernel could lead to problems.
