DICE:avi formats no audio #94

Hi, Dice works well with mp4, formats, with AVI , does not give the audio output, anyway to address this please.

It would be helpful if you were to give more details.

I have hundreds of .avi videos, and I cannot recall DICE failing to output audio on any of them. [I'm currently running DICE 2.0.7 on the beta5 rom.] Also remember that video players have 'settings' which the user might need to configure.

The catch is that .avi is just a "container" -- the actual audio/video data inside that container might have almost ANY format. And in my experience, all video players (including DICE) have a limited set of codecs. So if the video player is presented with a data stream for which it does not have the appropriate decoding facility -- no output.

Blame "patents" for limiting the availability of many codecs - and try another .avi file.
