Just to note, for me, I encountered errors, but switching from using SPAdes 3.14.1 to using SPAdes 3.15.4 solved those mysterious errors. A kind IT Analyst helped to figure this out. Working fine now.
Maybe this requirement (for SPAdes 3.15x rather than SPAdes 3.14x) is unique to my computational environment, but if not, perhaps require SPAdes v3.15.x below? thanks again!
