Hey all,

What do people think about getting together in a couple of weeks?

Was thinking April 11th, from 9am (ish) at Madison Sourdough?

Also figured I'd add @borego, another local freelancer who might benefit from the group

I'd be in. More interested in some West Side locations, or somewhere near campus (Indie Coffee on Regent is cool), but I could be into trekking to the east side once in a while. I'm working on some php/python/shell code at the moment.

Indie Coffee would work for me too on the 11th. Generally open to near west / campus / near east places. Looking forward to it.

I'm interested as well. I'm a python hacker, living in Madison for a few years, before that I had a small service biz in NYC doing web-dev for 14 years. I work from home and have had trouble developing any kind of professional network

I like Indie Coffee, but it may be a bit small if we have a decent sized group. @birdar2012 do you know if it is generally empty on Thursday mornings?

Good call. I just phoned them up and spoke to Barrett. He said it shouldn't be a problem for him to block off some space for us. He said to remind him next Monday and he'll make sure we've got room. I told him 10, but if we can get a better head-count by then I don't think it'll be a problem.

Sorry gang, I have to bail! Got a job interview and I'll be in Texas for 5 days starting Wednesday. Bummed! I was so looking forward to this. I'll call Barrett on Monday to make sure he reserves the space, and give him a head count based on the response here. Hopefully we can arrange another code party when I get back.

I should have introduced myself. I'm not a freelancer but wfh for Blackboard doing JavaScript & Scala dev. I know jimhalberg and mfeif

We allow scala devs to live in the midwest... so long as their offices are located remotely ;)

Just spoke with Barrett- you're all 'a go' for 10 at 9:00am(ish). If someone could get there at 9am just to check in, that would probably be best. I look forward to the next code-fest! Have fun.

I just got here and it is a bit busy, not sure there is a space for all of us to sit together if it really is 10. Is any one else here/coming?

I will admit to this... Being in the habit of just going to this event every Wednesday has really thrown me off, this is the second wednesday in a row I just came here because my non-caffeinated brain says ok on Wednesday's we have code and coffee. I blame the english man with the fancy hat.

Apologies, I didn't know there was a Wednesday rule :-).

You can just pretend that we're there if you like, here are some english phrases to make the experience more authentic: jolly good I'll have a cuppa this desk is made of aluminium

doesn't look like we have anything reserved, but we've pushed a few tables together, so we should have space.
