"Stock-app"-like information on number of unread SMS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Receiving an SMS

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I wonder whether it is possible to make SMSDroid show the number of unread SMS 
with a tiny number on top of the SMSDroid symbol on my homescreen just like 
stock-app offers. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.3.3

Anyway there are two suggestions for improvement by me.
- Widget doesnt fit in like the others because it is higher
- The counter's color (red) looks kinda awful (is there a way to alter it 
already?)

Fitting the widget is quite hard, as all kind of launchers use different 
layouts.

Please open a separate issue for the color of the counter.
