Numbers in Contact Name being added to Target Phone Number.

If a contact has a number in their name (e.g. "Felix123") then the 123 is added 
to the start of the number for sending, so you would attempt a send to 
123+447712345678 which of course fails.

My contacts are stored and synch'd from my google account but even removing the 
numbers from the contact either locally or via the web doesnt stop the problem 
its as if once the numbers have been there, even though they no longer display, 
they are remembered somewhere.
