the most popular goal that attendees wanted RSE-AUNZ to focus on in 2020 was:
Priority 1 D4 (Establish a permanent Web Presence) Priority 2 D1 (Publish a Manifesto or Mission Statement) D2 (Define Personas, Profiles, or Personal Stories) D3 (Create Impact Stories) Priority 3 D5 (Run Face-to-face Meetings) D6 (Create an Info Pack for Local RSE Groups)
There is a need to streamline the work that the committee does. It is my current opinion the steering committee needs to stay strategic and outsource operational work.

I think it is also worthwhile to review the dynamic between the ARDC and the RSE steering committee.
It should also be noted that being away from the steering commitee for 2 years but still on the google groups list, I wasn't aware of the work that was being done. There may need to be more focus put on sharing the meeting minutes more easily.
My current opinion that any funds generated from conferences or membership fees would go to paying someone to do the organisational work in an execuive officer type of position and to provide for other things like graphic design, web hosting etc.
I would also suggest that we try to make decisions asynchonously and leave the committee meetings for discussing points we cannot agree on. This could streamline our decision making process.
I would like to see a leadership program too.
We do not have representation of senior people in RSE positions. There are no Associate Professors or Professors. We need to look at bringing in people who would be higher up in terms of the funding decisions being made.
This is me sharing things publicly to allow feedback and transparency of strategy process.
