Request: Allow more than 11 characters in filename for insmod #144

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Convention at reboot.pro is:

grub4dos batch file = .g4b
grub4dos executable = .g4e

The 11 character restriction on insmod means that the filename must be no
longer than 7 characters (1234567.g4b is maximum length).

Can this filename restriction be made larger please - e.g. 32 characters?

2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

There is a problem with this version when I run DPMS.bat - crashing around fat

Yes - it loops when I run my version of DPMS.bat
There is a problem with it so it is broken somewhere.
I did not test insmod because normal code does not run.

I had a working USB drive
I replaced the grldr with the new one and it stopped working.
I put the original grldr file back on and it worked again.
I will test some more...

re-tested - now it seems OK!
insmod now loads a 12 character filename and kernel+initrd+boot runs from a
!BAT file.

Not sure what the problem was before (????), but this change looks good now.
