NTFS directory reads are twice as slow as FAT32 or exFAT

What steps will reproduce the problem?

if make a batch file that does 1000 loops of:

if exist /fred.txt echo fred > (md)0x300+1

On an NTFS formatted USB 2.0 flash drive it takes 40 seconds.
The same drive formatted as FAT32 takes 20 seconds.
The same drive formatted as exFAT takes 24 seconds.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

If enumerating files in large directories, why is NTFS so slow?
Can it be speeded up?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.4.5c and 0.4.6a give similar results

Please provide any additional information below.

May be NTFS format is more complex, it takes more time to calculate.

I do not understand NTFS。
