do most DICOM images contain a 3d representation?
how many sets of images would be required for reconstruction

So, as I understand it, a DICOM file can be a series of images or a single individual image.

That said, a series of DICOM images, would in my understanding, be suffice to construct a 3D representation. The series would (for now) be assumed to be in sequential order and aligned. No registration to a truth model would need to be done. We can look at incorporating something later I think.
