Bumps truffle from 5.2.4 to 5.4.19.

v5.4.19 — Cocoa and a candy bar

Hello all! We're back this week, with improvements for both old 🧮 and recent 🚅 versions of Solidity!

For those of you using the most recent version of Solidity, the recently-released 0.8.10, you'll be glad to know that the syntax highlighting 🎨 in our debugger has been updated for the new version. Also, for anyone just getting started, truffle init will now set the version on newly-created projects to 0.8.10.

Meanwhile, for those of you who prefer Solidity 0.4.9 and 0.4.10 🏛, you may have noticed that these versions wouldn't actually compile recently (with an exception for truffle debug --fetch-external, which could compile externally-fetched sources using these versions). This problem is now fixed, and Solidity 0.4.9 and 0.4.10 projects should once again compile.

That's all for this week, but as always, we've got more on the way soon! 🚂

How to upgrade

We recommend upgrading to the latest version of Truffle by running:

npm uninstall -g truffle
npm install -g truffle

v5.4.18 — Gulab Jamun

Hello and Happy Diwali 🪔 everyone! We're back with treats for y'all. :tada:

The lede this week is @truffle/hdwallet-provider now fully supports EIP-1559 which means you can send Type 2 transactions :tada:. Relatedly we fixed a bug :bug: that ignored these options in your Truffle config. Phew! Now it will do what you asked it. Thanks for all the heavy EIP-1559 lifting @XWJACK. We  community contributors .

In debugger land you can now configure the display of variables ⚙️. v can now customize which types of variables it will show you (e.g. run v -bui to hide solidity built-ins). See debugging documentation for more information. We also improved functionality of the decoder so you'll be able to see even more insights. Check out the changelog below.

Rounding up our offering this week is support for fetching verified contracts from Etherscan was broken for many contracts due to how Truffle handles compilation paths. This release includes a fix to the @truffle/fetch-and-compile package that remedies this problem everywhere we provide this capability. truffle debug --fetch-external <txn> is now more robust! :tada:

That's all for this week, see you next time!
