Same in Windows 11 x64 22H2. I tried several version of Rstudio, all the .R
and .Rproj
files will not automatically associated with Rstudio after installtion. I should open them and chose Rstudio to open them manually. Icons of all these files look same.
Create and enable different file icons for Windows (Windows Explorer) and, possibly, other OSes for different file types associated with RStudio. These files include:
.R
R script.Rmd
R Markdown.qmd
Quarto.rds
R data file.RData
,rda
R data file.rprofile
R settings.rhistory
R history.Rd
R documentation.Rbuildignore
Other file types should have different icons too:
.md
Markdown.json
JSON.js
Java Script.sh
Shell scripts.py
Python files.yml
,.yaml
At least create different icons for R and non-R scripts, data files, and setup files.
In
Files
pane, there are different icons used, e.g.:But in Windows Explorer now only
.Rproj
files are different. All other icons look the same:So why the same icons from
Files
window are not used in Windows Explorer?Related:
