Conflicted keyboard shortcut in menu should show pointer for info or warning #14488

Closed olivroy closed 2 weeks ago

olivroy commented 6 months ago

System details

RStudio Edition : Desktop [Open Source]
RStudio Version : 2024.4.0.558
OS Version : Windows 10 x64 (build 19044)
R Version : R version 4.3.2 (2023-10-31 ucrt)

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Open the Edit keyboard shortcuts menu (via command palette)
  2. Hover over a info or warning tooltip

Describe the problem in detail

The tooltip doesn't show all information when hovering over the little i. I don't see the conflicting command. (Can't include the screenshot of the tooltip)

image

I only see Conflict with command: when hovering. See that this differs from https://support.posit.co/hc/en-us/articles/206382178-Customizing-Keyboard-Shortcuts-in-the-RStudio-IDE

image

However, I just learned that you can click on the info or warning to get the complete information + a bonus hyperlink when you click!

image

The problem is that there is no indication that you can actually click on it.

Describe the behavior you expected

I would expect the tooltip to show the complete message or to show that you can click to get more details

Suggestion: little hand that indicates you can click when hovering over diagnostic image

Or when hovering, show the full tooltip and not the "partial" one. https://docs.posit.co/ide/user/ide/guide/productivity/custom-shortcuts.html#handling-conflicts
