Question: New Shiny Server release in 2021 to address vulnerabilities? #503

It has been quite a while since we saw an official release of the Shiny Server. The latest version: 1.5.16.958, released on January 11, 2021. Are there plans to release a new version this year? We know that a number of vulnerabilities were resolved since then (see, e.g #483) and security is the constant focus at RStudio but we are still waiting for an official release to have these vulnerabilities addressed.

Yes, sorry, 1.5.17 was quite delayed due to some IT changes at RStudio that resulted in us having to completely rebuild our cloud test environment and redesign some of our automated tests. I'm happy to say that's all done now and as of today 1.5.17 is released. https://www.rstudio.com/products/shiny/download-server/
