Clarify "Wildcard" Filter Functionality #201

Open jeffyjeffy1023 opened 2 years ago

jeffyjeffy1023 commented 2 years ago

I was going through my filters, and the noticed that one of the fields said "Wildcard" and every keyword filter just said "No". What the hell is a wildcard?

rthaut commented 2 years ago

Wildcard means it will match any keywords/tags that include the word/letters you entered. A non-wildcard filter, on the other hand, will only match the entire word you entered.

So, for example, making a wildcard filter for "art" will also filter things tagged with "heart" and "artistic".

I am going to leave this issue open (and update the title) so I can use it to track documenting that feature/functionality better.

Ah, that makes sense. If I were you, I would probably put that info in either a little (?) icon you can hover over in the filter manager, OR in the .github.io page documentation. Still, thank you for clearing that up! :)
