I've been building Venice - an open source framework for setting up and managing event-stream processing for small applications and developers new to stream processing. I discussed a talk idea with @VanessaNimmo on slack - but in broad strokes I was thinking:
Set up - a bit of a dive into the question what is event-stream processing and why when is it useful.
What is Venice - What particular problems do small applications / developers new to stream processing face.
Challenges/learnings - Everything we learnt as a small, remote team trying to streamline and simplify event-stream processing.
Just re-iterating conversation from slack that this isn't a pitch for Venice - I'm just excited to share everything we learned. The talk is ready to go. I can do a 20 or 30 minute version. The difference would just be in the level of detail I can go into in each section.
I'd be keen to go in May while it's still fresh in my mind.
