I appreciate this update from the recent board meeting: https://rubytogether.org/news/2018-04-25-april-22-board-meeting-results

It expresses the intent to address a handful of things people have brought up, even if it does not give any sense of how exactly those problems will be addressed, and when.

It would be very useful for both the sake of accountability and for making sure that the board understands and is responsive to community concerns, to include in this repository or somewhere else that's easily trackable, a clear list of "Community Concerns" and the steps that are being taken (and have been taken) to address each concern.

I'm not suggesting a laundry list of everything that has ever flowed through a feedback channel. Instead, just a decent list of "Known Issues under consideration" all in one place, so that to see progress and to make clarifying comments, there's a one stop shop.

It would be beneficial to include not just the "What" but the "Why it matters", to the extent that you understand the feedback that has been offered to you.

I really appreciate this idea and promise that I'll push for this through board channels.

Thanks!

Also worth adding is the "Won't fix" stuff, or at least the "Won't fix right now"

People may agree or disagree, but knowing that they've been accurately heard, and that there is a reasoned response to their concern that's on public record, will at least help clarify things.

This document is important not just as a conflict resolution tool for dealing with those who have lodged complaints, but as a way for members to see how the board is responding, which will help them gain a clearer sense of what they're supporting.

Quick update: We've just discussed this at our most recent board meeting. We are making careful progress and will likely put this out in the form of "FAQs" instead of "Responses to community concerns". Slight reframing toward the more positive/constructive. I'll update here as we progress.
